A cross between a raspberry and blackberry, the loganberry is generally slightly longer than a raspberry with a juicier and sharper flavour. Berries should be allowed to darken to a deep purple colour before picking to obtain the best flavoured fruit. Loganberry plants are sturdy and more disease and frost resistant than many other berry varieties and as berries of varying maturity may grow on a single plant, it will usually produce fruit throughout August and September .
Plants continue to fruit for around 15 years
