Direct from the growers in France. Regarded by discerning cooks as the ‘true shallot’ and known as the French long grey shallot . It’s purplish pink flesh with grey skin is a feature along with a fine strong flavour favoured by French cooks particularly alongside beef.
Sweeter and milder than onions, shallots have twice the amount of vitamin C and are also rich in vitamins A, B and E. A really special variety that gives great results when planted in the autumn.
All of our bulbs are certified as disease and virus free.
Each individual, bulbs which, when re-planted, will grow on to form clusters of up to 7 shallots ready to harvest in July.
