Crinodendron Hookerianum commonly known as Chile Lantern Tree is a dense, bushy evergreen shrub with these dark green, narrow leaves. In May all the way through until August the Crinodendron Hookerianum will bloom these beautiful red lantern like flowers which give the Crinodendron its common name, creating a lovely, bright display.  Plant the Crinodendron Hookerianum in a sunny, partially shaded area sheltered from strong winds with moist, well drained soils where it will thrive. Generally disease and pest free and basic pruning makes this shrub a good plant for beginner and expert gardeners alike. Simply prune after flowering any branches which grow out of the natural shape of the plant to encourage a neat shrub framework.
