Sowing Info
Sow seed in pots on the surface of the compost. Lightly cover seed with vermiculite or compost. Place pots in a propagator or seal inside a polythene bag and keep at around 20-25C (68-77F) until the seeds germinate. This will take about 7-21 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination.
Growing Info
Transplant seedlings, when large enough to handle into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Plant out when all risk of frost has gone about 30cm (12in) apart. Asters can become affected by a fungal disease known as Aster wilt. To help prevent this from affecting your garden, do not grow Asters in the same place each year.
