Peony ‘Marie Lemoine’

An old Heritage variety with very large double flowers which are lemon-white, sometimes with a trace of crimson on the edges. Highly fragrant. Plant any fertile, free draining soil in full sun or part shade in any sheltered position. Ht 80cm

Peonies are amazingly long-term-lived plants staying around  more than 50 years,  these plants will reward you for years to come producing exceptional flowers every season . Peonies prefer to be planted in a sunny spot with a well-drained soil. A good quality air flow circulation available around the plant is also very important . Peonies are very trouble free , but remember to choose a good spot where they can be happy for 50 years.  Prepare a planting hole designed for a bareroot peony, dig the ground to the level around 12-18inches. Best in deep, fertile, humus-rich soil that is moist but well-drained in a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade Long-lived but resents disturbance. Make use of a garden fork to release the edges of the planting hole at the same time. It is really essential that the "eyes", or growth nodes, situated near the base of the old stem, end up no greater than 6 cms inches below the ground surface.
