Improved, Green Pearl type with longer stems and a more pronounced, finer curl to the dark green leaf. Forms a vigorous rosette of leaves and stands well without yellowing or bolting. Ideal for pot growing on a windowsill or the patio.

Sowing Info

Indoors: fill a seed tray or 7.5cm (3in) pots with good, free-draining seed compost. Place at 18-20°C (64-68°F) until after germination. Outdoors: sow 1cm (½in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. August sowings will overwinter. Sow small quantities every 6 weeks to harvest all year round inside.

Growing Info

When large enough to handle, thin seedlings to 23cm (9in) apart. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions before planting out after all risk of frost, or pot on as a windowsill plant or in a container for the patio or conservatory.
